How to apply
Applying for the VALONI mark is a straightforward process. Follow these steps to submit your application, complete the assessment, and secure the mark for your luminaires.
Prepare for VALONI
Start by reviewing the criteria to ensure your luminaire and its conformity assessment meet the requirements. Explore the benefits of VALONI and assess any costs or additional work needed to align with the criteria. If you have questions, don’t hesitate to contact us for guidance.
Apply for VALONI
Once you’ve decided to proceed, complete the application form. We’ll process your application and determine eligibility. After the application is approved, we will contact you and provide instructions regarding the additional documentation and information required for the assessment.
Submit documentation
Provide the required documentation for our review. Once we’ve received all necessary materials, we’ll begin the audit process. During the audit, we may request additional information or, in certain cases, inspect the physical product or applicant facilities.
Get the VALONI report
Based on the audit, we’ll compile a detailed report covering the assessed areas and documentation reviewed. If your luminaire meets the VALONI criteria, it will be awarded the VALONI mark.
If the criteria are not fully met, the report will include recommended corrective actions. You can choose to implement these measures and request a re-assessment to obtain the right to use the VALONI mark.
Use the VALONI mark
Once awarded, you can use the VALONI mark on your product, in marketing, and for communication and sales. A valid VALONI license also grants you access to support for compliance-related matters and updates on regulatory changes.
Pricing
The VALONI fee primarily consists of an application fee and an annual fee.
Note: No annual fee will be charged for the year 2025. This applies to all products granted the VALONI mark during the 2025 calendar year.

Single product (One luminaire model or SKU): 2140 €
Product family (up to 5 variants): 2490 €
Extensive product family (>5 variants): 2790 €
The fee include:
Guidance on requirements, documentation, and criteria
Assistance in identifying areas for improvement
VALONI assessment
VALONI report along with compiled technical documentation
Re-inspections are carried out at an additional cost 160 €/h.
All prices are subject to VAT at the applicable rate.

If the product is modified after the initial approval or if VALONI criteria change, an amendment application may be submitted. This process involves assessing only the impact of the changes rather than a full re-evaluation.
Amendment applications are invoiced based on the time required.
Hourly rate: 160€ (excl. VAT)

The annual fee for the VALONI mark is based on the applicant company's annual revenue. The fee includes the right to use the VALONI mark on the product and in marketing, visibility in the VALONI product registry, and access to up-to-date support.
A minimum fee applies to small businesses, and a capped maximum fee applies to large companies. The fee is tiered as follows:
Revenue under €2 million – €500
€2–10 million – €1 000
€10–50 million – €2 500
Over €50 million – €5 000 (maximum)
The annual fee is invoiced yearly for as long as the mark is valid for the product.
